In January 2019, Elder Gordon was appointed by Bishop Jerry W. Taylor as the Pastor of Faith Heritage Church, succeeding his father-in-law and the ministry’s founder, Pastor James T. Jones, Jr. Prior to his appointment as pastor, he served as the Superintendent of the Sunday School Department for eight years. As a visionary Pastor, he is building diversity. Pastor Gordon has implemented a community food bank, GED program, helps oversee the ministry’s private school, serves as the AIM Chairman of the J. D. Porter District, and is the President of the J.D. Porter Scholarship Foundation which awards students to further pursue their education. In 2019, Pastor Gordon was recognized by Cynthia Daniels and Co. as one of Memphis’ Top 40 under 40. This highly anticipated annual celebration and gala recognizes the 40 most influential urban elite professionals under the age of 40 in Memphis. Simultaneously, he was honored as one of the Church Of God In Christ Whole Truth Magazine 40 under 40 recipients. His work in the ministry and the field of education fulfills his life’s calling. As an Elementary School principal and a pastor, he believes that teaching and discipleship go beyond the walls of a classroom or a church to impact one community at a time. Gordon is a native of Cordova, TN. She has been a member of Faith Heritage since 1995, when God gave the vision for this ministry to her father, the Founder of Faith Heritage Church, the late Pastor James T. Jones, Jr. Until her father’s demise, she served faithfully under the leadership of her father and mother, Missionary Linda K. Jones. Now, she proudly serves alongside her husband as the First Lady of Faith Heritage Church Of God In Christ. In addition to helping her husband, Lady Kim is a licensed Missionary within the Church Of God In Christ. Currently, she is the Director of the Faith Heritage Women’s Ministry, and oversees the Faith Heritage Food Pantry. She understands that demonstrating God’s love and serving others are both priorities in order to effectively answer the call of God upon her life. You will often find her working in some capacity, whether inside or outside the walls of the physical church. She believes that walking God’s chosen path for her is essential. II Timothy 1:9 guides her life.
